About the author

Tom Blaen was born and grew up in Devon. He studied history, a subject he has always loved, achieving a first class degree at Swansea University, before gaining a Masters and Doctorate at the University of Exeter. A cultural historian, he is interested in the interplay between magic, medicine, religion and science in the past. He has taught at the universities of Plymouth and Exeter, is a Fellow of the Royal Historical Society and is a director of the Assemblage Point Centre.
